Last gasp Duns down ‘shire in Cup

Dundela 3-3 Downshire YM 05/11/16 Irish Cup Rd 3 @ Wilgar Park

Dundela progressed to the fourth round of the Irish Cup with this hard fought victory over Amateur League 1B side Downshire.
After a dour first half with the home side finding it difficult to break down their opponents it was no surprise when both sides locked at 0-0 at half time.
HT 0-0
The Duns got the early breakthrough in the second half  when Matty Burrows netted. Most people thought that this would see the start of more goals for the men in green but unbelievably Downshire then found themselves in front with two quick fire goals.
Dundela were now rattled and were finding it as hard as they did in the first half.
With tension growing both on the pitch and on the terracing James Sofley brought the home side level with a thunderbolt finish.
Downshire were looking the more likely to snatch the winner and there were a few nervous moments for The Duns as firstly Curtis Brown saved keeper Ferguson’s blushes with a last ditch tackle after the keepers clearance fell to former Dundela man Neale.
The away side also rattled the bar and were looking ever more threatening before Dundela’s veteran defender Stephen Gourley superbly set up Burrows to snatch the last gasp killer goal to see The Duns through.
FT 3-2
