Limavady United 0-2 Dundela Away 04/02/17 League
With all the recent new signings in the starting line up Dundela took to the field with confidence that they could go on a winning run to push up the table.
With barely three minutes on the clock Ben Murdock fired in a bullet header from a Jackson free kick to get them off to a great start.
That goal shocked the home side and they strived to get a foothold but were being thwarted by a defence superbly marshalled by goalkeeper Blayney showing already what a valuable asset he is to the club.
Both sides were struggling on the greasy surface with Dundea probably having the better of things.
With less than ten minutes to go to the break United suffered a devastating blow when Bryan McClelland was injured in a challenge with Jamie Jackson, after sliding in to try and win the ball the United player came off the worse, the game being held up for some thirty minutes as the extent of the injury became clear.
When the play restarted the final minutes of the half were played out in a strange atmosphere with the injury to McClelland still on the teams minds no doubt.
The second half started in great fashion for The Duns, with a little over four minutes gone Ben Roy fired in a superb volley to put his side in a commanding position.
In the reverse fixture some three weeks ago the East Belfast men surrendered a two goal lead, but not this time as they dealt comfortably with anything that was thrown at them indeed Blayney only had one save of note to make and did so with ease.
Dundela were content to try and attack on the counter and did cause a few problems for the home defence but with no further goals Dundela left for home fully deserving of the three points.
Dundela would like to offer our sincere best wishes to Bryan McClelland and hope for a speedy recovery.
