Steel hopes dashed.

Immaculata 3-1 Dundela Steel & Sons Cup Rd 4 23/09/17 Away

Dundela’s hopes of making a return in the Christmas final were ended in disappointing fashion as Immaculata deservedly progressed to the next round.
The Wilgar men suffered a blow before a ball was even kicked as Jay Magee pulled up during the warm up to join the ill Gary Irwin on the sidelines.
Nevertheless hopes were high that The Duns would win this encounter at the Grosvenor Road venue. However from the start they were being outfought and out played by their Amateur League hosts and fell behind early on as hesitancy from a corner allowed The ‘mac to score although the referee missed the ball being put in by a hand.
Within a minute however Curtis Black levelled things and hopes were raised but to no avail as a disjointed Dundela defence conceded another two without reply before half time to leave them with a mountain to climb in the second half.
That mountain was to high for the away side as despite a better showing in the second half it was Immaculata who eased into the next round.
FT 3-1
