Roy’s the boy!

Lurgan Celtic 2-3 Dundela 17/12/2011 Championship2.

Ben Roy was the hero for the Duns when his injury time header sealed a valuable 3 points for the Wilgar men in this entertaining league clash at Lurgan.
Dundela were quick out of the blocks and William Faulkner fired them in front with a superb scissor kick goal from Dee Wright’s cross on 6 minutes. The lead was to last barely a minute when hesitancy in the Duns defence allowed Murnin in to level.
Both teams made light of the difficult conditions to play some attractive football and on the half hour mark Dundela were gifted a goal when confusion in the home defence resulted in Faulkner firing in his and Dundela’s second.
HT 1-2
The second half once again had both teams playing some entertaining football on the sodden pitch and it was the home side who got the next goal when Dundela failed to clear a corner and Haire bundled the ball over the line.
It was now end to end football with Dundela arguably having the better chances but just as it looked as if the points would be shared young Lee Lenaghan nipped down the right wing and slung in a superb cross that Ben Roy met with a diving header to send the Dundela players and officials wild with delight.
Both teams should be highly commended for playing out such a great game in the conditions, a point that was made by both sets of club officials after the match.
