A reffing disgrace!

Dundela 2-1 Ballymoney United 31/03/2012

Dundela moved into second spot in the league with this hard fought victory. The game was marred by some ugly scenes near the end when winger Kris Hunter was attacked whilst on the ground after a hefty challenge, and indeed received several kicks to the head which incensed the Dundela bench. Bizarrely Hunter was sent off along with Ballymoney midfielder Gillian, an unbelievable decision by referee Kennedy as Hunter was the victim of an unprovoked attack.
In the game itself Dundela got of to the best possible start when virtually from the kick off William Faulkner fired in and within ten minutes it was two this time Ben Roy the scorer.
Further chances were to follow but unfortunately no more goals with Ballymoney coming close to getting back into the game as the half closed.
HT 0-0
In the second half the visitors piled on the pressure although clear cut chances were rarely created and Dundela came close to increasing their lead.
However just after the hour mark Christie looped the ball over Sergeants head for a deserved goal.
United pushed to level and but for a fantastic Sergeant save near the end could have done so.
Then came that controversy near the finish which took the gloss of a welcome three points.
